The Forey family has an established presence in Vosne-Romanée and oversaw the viticulture and vinification of the La Romanée Grand Cru vineyard, the smallest of appellation in France, until 2001. Today, the estate is managed by Régis Forey who, since the 1980s, has extended its total vineyard holdings to 9 hectares (22 acres), with the purchase of an additional Echezeaux Grand Cru vineyard parcel and Les Gaudichots Premier Cru vineyard plots. Biodiversity is promoted throughout these vineyards, with the use of manmade chemicals kept to a minimum.The entire grape harvest is destemmed and, following fermentation, aged in oak barrels.
