The 2011 Vik is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Carménère, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 4% Syrah from Cachapoal, from a winery created in 2006 whose wines are produced by Patrick Valette (the ex-owner of Château Pavie). It does feel like an oenologist's wine, with a perfect dose of wood and acidity, measured fruit and fine tannins. It feels a bit lean, and I think the acidity needs more time to get integrated. It made me hesitate, and that was before taking a look at the price tag. 24,000 bottles produced.
