Domaine Georges Lignier is a Burgundy domaine based in Morey-Saint-Denis, known for its wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Founder Georges is a cousin of Hubert Lignier and their two estates have similar – and similarly impressive – vineyard holdings, though the Georges Lignier wines are described by Jancis Robinson as being more delicate and subtle. Since 2008, Georges' estate has been run by Benoît Stehly, his nephew. George Lignier's prestigious vineyard portfolio includes over a hectare of Clos de la Roche, a smaller portion of Bonnes Mares, and nearly 1.5 hectares (4 acres) of Clos Saint-Denis, making it the largest owner in that vineyard. In all there is 16ha (40 acres) of vineyards across 17 appellations, and divided between 50 parcels.
