In 1988, Deutz formed a partnership with New Zealand producer Montana Wines to make sparkling wines in the Marlborough region of New Zealand.[1] Since 1993, the estate has been part of the Louis Roederer portfolio of wineries, which also include the Bordeaux wine estate of Château de Pez.[2] In the early 1990s, Deutz partnered with Beringer Wine Estates and a San Luis Obispo landowner to form the Californian sparkling wine producer Maison Deutz.
