Jumilla is located in the community of Murcia, in the Levante region, which benefits from an arid climate and, due to being close to the Mediterranean, it has great conditions for growing vines.
The red strains found in this wine-growing region are Garnacha Tinta, Garnacha Tintorera, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and, above all, Monastrell. The latter is considered the best grape found in Jumilla.
As for white vines, in Jumilla it is recognized for planting grapes such as the Airén, Macabeo, Malvasía and Pedro Ximénez.
This wine region is known for producing well-structured wines thanks to its growing conditions. They are wines that have a deep dark color and flavors of berries and plums.
The aging of Jumilla wines provides a greater depth of flavor and body, while normally balanced tones of earth, dark chocolate and espresso tend to be found.
